ABOUT

Sagi (b. 1988) is a sculptor living and working between Tel Aviv and Barcelona. His practice focuses on the human figure and investigates the tension between intention and randomness, figurative and abstract, the natural and the constructed. Working primarily in clay, his forms emerge through a tactile process that embraces pressure, chance, and imperfection as integral forces of creation.

Originally trained in psychology and sociology (BA, 2015), Sagi brings a nuanced understanding of the human condition to his sculptural language. His work reflects a deep interest in how emotion, memory, and embodiment manifest in material form. Marks left in the clay—scratches, scars, and fingerprints—are not flaws to be erased but traces of process, time, and lived experience.

Sagi began sculpting in 2021 and studied in the atelier of sculptor Avner Levinson at the Atelier School. His debut solo exhibition, Imprinted, opened in Tel Aviv in March 2025. The show explored vulnerability and transformation through raw, intuitive forms shaped by both control and surrender.
